Hi, I’m Charlotte
Hi, I’m Charlotte – a GP Registrar in the North West of England, originally from the Lake District. I created The Health and Healing Narrative to combine my love of medicine, health promotion, and writing.
After a year in Emergency Medicine (my “FY3” year), I moved into General Practice training. I have seen first-hand the need for patients and doctors to have open, honest conversations. Writing felt like a natural way to share these insights and start the discussions we aren’t always able to have in the consultation room.
Growing up in a military family, I’ve lived in many parts of the UK and abroad, meeting people from all walks of life. That experience taught me the power of communication in building trust between patients and practitioners, a value that drives everything I write here.
When I’m not in scrubs, you’ll find me hiking mountains, enjoying a glass of wine with friends, or curled up with a good book!
I write and maintain this site independently to make reliable, stigma-free health information accessible to everyone. If you’d like to help with hosting and upkeep, you can make a small contribution below – it truly means a lot.
